Platypus Park Country Retreat

Play Seaside Stay Countryside! Rural seclusion in one, two or three bedroom cottage style self contained units. Only two minutes drive to the golden beaches of Bridport.  Platypus Park Country Retreat is a very relaxing and peaceful accommodation property. Relax in the Lavender spa cottage just for two! Pampering packages, including massages are available too. The spacious, warm and welcoming units are set in lawns and gardens overlooking the trout-stocked farm dams and river valley of this quiet 17 ha property.

The property is ideal for small groups when playing golf or catching up with family and friends in the region, ask about our group rates.

Everyone is welcome, families, couples, singles, corporates and of course the golfers who need the Barnbougle and Lost Farm challenge.

Stroll to the Brid river and private picnic point and try to spot a platypus, they are in the trout fishing dams too. The bullnose verandah all round your cottage is another spot for unwinding and gazing at the view. On crisp winter nights, warm up by a cosy wood fire. The fully equipped accommodations have all the modern conveniences you could want.

Children will delight at the space to enjoy kicking a ball, the games room has free table tennis table, air hockey, eight ball and foosball, or watch the cows and calves, or feed the chickens, Parents will delight that there is something to do!

Hearty provisions for a full breakfast are included if required or you are able to fully self cater if you wish. For lunch, borrow fishing equipment and catch trout in the dams to cook on the barbecue, or try fresh seafood from the village of Bridport. Dinners can be arranged for your convenience. We specialise in group barbeques and seafood banquets.

Platypus Park is a great base from which to explore the local vineyards, lavender farm (best in January),Scottsdale and the Forest Eco centre, the memorial wood carvings at Legerwood, Low Head Pilot Station and penguin tours, Derby, Cuckoo Falls and Ralphs Falls, Mt. William National Park and the Rhododendron Reserve. Or play a round at the renowned Barnbougle Dunes Links golf course, just 8 km along the coast.

Only 2 km to swimming beaches, tennis courts, bowling greens and sailing club and 4 km to local golf course and five minutes to Barnbougle Dunes.
