Hollybank Treetops Adventure Nabowla Hollybank Treetops Adventure is Forestry Tasmania’s newest tourist attraction 15 minutes north east of Launceston. Gliding along wires and attached by harnesses, thrill seekers are lead by knowledgable and highly trained guides through the treetops and above Pipers River. The journey includes cable spans of between 45 metres and 370 metres, connected by tree platforms called “cloud stations”.
Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees Legerwood An avenue of memorial trees that were condemned has been chainsaw carved into 25 statues depicting the men they were planted for. Also represented are various other scenes relating to World War One.
Mt William National Park Gladstone This park in the far northeast corner of Tasmania is one of the best places to spot wildlife, including the rare Tasmanian Forester (or eastern grey) kangaroo. Pack a torch/flashlight and take a stroll at dawn or dusk you will probably see Bennetts wallabies, Tasmanian pademelons, wombats, Forester kangaroos and maybe a timid Tasmanian devil or two.
North East Rivers Festival Derby This years North East rivers festival will run from October 17 to October 26. The Festival will once agin highlight the Derby River Derby but will also include a wide range of arts, sporting and fashion events.
