What to do in Branxholm
■ Pause for a break in your journey in Branxholm – spot a platypus or trout in the Ringarooma River while strolling along the river access walk.
■ Cross the Red Bridge, built as a community project celebrating the heritage of Branxholm and the historic 1877 confrontation between European and Chinese miners.
■ Branxholm’s Centenary Park offers camping and facilities including fishing, swimming pool, play equipment, tennis courts and a free BBQ.
■ Wander through three of the gardens of the North East Garden Lover’s Trail – each are within three kilometres of Branxholm.
■ Walk along the Briseis Water Race Walking Track and experience the wonders of this century-old engineering feat. Turn right off the A3 into Donald street and continue for 2k to the carpark and signage.
■ See the remains of the Ah Moy family’s shop, part of our areas Chinese Heritage.
■ Be there for a local highlight event – Branxholm’s flower shows (February and September) and woodchopping carnivals (Easter and December).
