Hollybank Treetops Adventure

The tour combines the tranquillity of the forest with the adrenalin of gliding above and through a beautiful natural environment. Guests have a unique view of the forest from above and will see the trees and forest ecology in a new light and learn about our growing and vibrant Tasmanian forests.

Gliding along wires and attached by harnesses, thrill-seekers are led by knowledgeable and highly-trained guides through the treetops and above the Pipers River. The journey includes cable spans of between 15 metres and 400 metres, connected between tree platforms called ‘cloud stations’. The cloud stations are constructed around the trunks of large trees, within the mid canopy level of the forest – typically at heights up to 23m above the forest floor.

The tour has been designed for persons of good health, having an average level of fitness and full coordination and a capacity to understand basic safety instructions, suitable for all ages 3 to 80+ years.

The tour has not been designed for persons:

*Who are beyond the first trimester of pregnancy, 3 months (risk of abdominal trauma).
Who have spinal conditions (including neck).
Who suffer from vertigo.

*A guest should seek medical advice from their doctor should there be any doubt as to their ability to safely accommodate the stressors associated with the Canopy Tour.

Maximum Weight 135kgs (not to be exceeded unless pre-arranged with HTA).

Join us and leave the hassle of cars and mass transport behind as you effortlessly glide on a Segway Personal Transporter (PT). With a guide to show you the basics of riding, and their local knowledge to give you a truly memorable experience, you’re in for the time of your life filled with memories that will last a lifetime.

The tour combines the adrenaline rush of a Segway PT ride with an informative and highly entertaining outlook of the forest.

The adventure consists of an exhilarating glide on tracks that have been established on the forest floor; a remarkable place to enjoy the wonders that this unique landscape offers.

Segway Discovery Tour

A comfortably paced and unique 2 hour experience in the Hollybank Forests. The Discovery Tour offers the thrill of a unique outdoors Segway tour at a pace suited to most individuals.

Segway Adventure Tour

In comparison to the Discovery Tour the Adventure Tour contains steeper hills, sharper turns and at a greater pace. The very popular 2 hour Adventure Tour appeals to the more adventurous gliding through our more challenging track.

Admission Guidelines

Segway’s are easy to learn to operate for young and old alike. There is no maximum age and guests of up to 80 years old have enjoyed the tour. Segway tours are an adventure activity and falls do occur. The tour is suitable for persons of good health, having an average level of fitness and full coordination and a capacity to understand basic safety instructions, Some physical and mobility issues including mobility disorders preclude riding safely.

The tour is not suitable for persons who:

Are pregnant, (risk of abdominal trauma);
Suffer from osteoporotic fractures;
Suffer any medical condition which increases their chance of injury due to falling; and
Weigh less than 35kg or more than 120kg.

Participants must be comfortable being on their feet for at least an hour and must be agile enough to step on and off the Segway without assistance, requiring physical abilities similar to climbing and descending steps without assistance or use of a handrail.
