The Tin Dragon Interpretation Centre is a state of the art attraction where, through an incredible 15 metre screened multi-media presentation you’ll experience the power and the fury of water in the epic story of the Tin Rush and the European and Chinese miners who sought their fortune from this remarkable metal. Learn also how tin opened the world to exploration and discovery and its effect on some of history’s greatest battles. Be awed by the might and tragedy of the 1929 destruction of the Briseis Mine in a fury of flooding so huge it caused the river to reverse its flow for five miles upstream and wreaked devastation upon the town and it’s people.
One cannot help but be moved by the collections of small everyday items and personal treasures swept aside to now stand as quiet but stark reminders of the terrible losses of those hard working men and their families.
Bookings and enquiries available directly with Tin Dragon Cafe (03) 6354 1062
